Dental Treatment Payment Information

After your teeth have been examined and a treatment plan has been agreed, you will be given a written estimate of the cost of the work to be done.

The charge you pay depends on the treatment you need to keep your mouth, gums and teeth healthy. You will only ever be asked to pay one charge for each completed course of treatment, even if you need to visit your dentist more than once to finish it. Our procedure for NHS treatment is for you to pay the banded cost at the commencement of your treatment.

There are 3 standard price NHS bands:

  • Band 1—£17.00. This covers an Examination, Advice, X-rays and a Scale & polish if needed.
  • Band 2—£47.00. This covers anything in band 1 plus any Fillings, Root Canal Work or Extractions.
  • Band 3—£204.00. This covers anything in band 1 & 2 plus Crowns, Dentures or Bridges.

Private payments will be arranged individually.

Treatment is FREE for:

  • Children under 18
  • Pregnant Women and New Mums
  • Full Time Students (aged 18)
  • People on a range of Benefits

If you need more treatment at the same charge level (e.g. an additional filling) within two months of seeing your dentist, this will be free of charge.

There will be no charge for writing a prescription* or for removing stitches.

Dentures - repairs to dentures will remain free of charge.
